I am an oil painter from Texas. My name is Li Buddensiek nee. Lisa Burns. I was raised in poverty by intelligence parents who placed importance on educating oneself, morality, and spirituality. The family was concerned that we ask big questions, not concerned answers. The Justice series was a reaction to my childhood trauma, losing my father to the government’s arbitrary violence. The work I have created since has evolved to share insights into my exploration of spirituality and mythology.
