Raisa Galofre is an artist, mother, photographer and cultural worker working between Berlin, Germany and Barranquilla, Colombia. Her artistic work is informed by counter-hegemonic embodied epistemologies, technologies and voices from Améfrica Ladina and the Caribbean, where she comes from. She explores their narrative, aesthetic, sonic and performative characteristics as a means to reveal, question and counter-narrate western dominant narratives and constructs. Her works embrace the clash and encounter of opposites: real and fantastic, rational and mythical elements, which she translates into staged and sculpture-based photography, objects and sound pieces. Raisa is part of the Berlin based independent art space SAVVY Contemporary | The Laboratory of Form-Ideas.
